Here are some of
our most frequently asked questions:
Q: Can I build my own home?
A: You can build or general contract your own
home, however, you must be certified by the state of
Iowa in construction, and willing to up hold the
building values of Arbor Lake.
Q: Can I build a
detached garage or shop?
A: Arbor Lake will allow a detached garage or
shop on selected lots depending on the frontage and
the size.
Q: Will I have access to the lake?
A: The Lake is open to all residents of Arbor
Lake. There will be a public access trail to the
lake for resident without direct lake access.
Q: Am I allowed to fish on the lake?
A: Yes you are as long as it is catch and
release. If the fish population gets out of balance
we will notify the residents about what types of
fish are permitted to be kept.
Q: Is there a home owner association? Do we have
to pay dues?
A: At this time all dues for the home owners
association are being paid by the developer until
the time when the residents are ready to carry it on
by them selves. At this time the association will
figure out dues.
Q: Will I be able to cut down trees when I build?
A: You may, but we would like to keep the
clearing at a minimum. This will mean that all tree
clearings will have to be on your proposals and site
plans from the beginning.
Q: Can I have a boat in the lake?
A: Yes, you may as long as it is shorter than
17' and is equipped with electric trolling motor.

What will my taxes be when my tax abatement program
ends?

Q: May I mow down to the water?
A: The conservation easement for the lake are on
the plat map. Please reference the map for exact
line of the conservation easement.
Q: Am I able to build a dock?
A: Home owners are allowed to build docks as
long as they do not disturb the soil of the lake
easements.
Q: Can I use vinyl siding?
A: The developers of Arbor Lake believe that
vinyl siding is not appropriate for the development. |
